Do you know the first biggest hanging curved led screen in the world? Yes, it was designed by the Spanish artist Daniel Canogar and manufactured by DesignLED in 2012.
A Surprising Proposal
In 2011, we received a very difficult task, which was to create a 10mm flexible LED screen with a creative ribbon shape. Our objective was to implement the system and ensure the screen’s stability and a lifespan of at least 15 years.
The Art of Structure Creation
To begin, our team carefully examined the drawings and analyzed the feasibility of the project. We brainstormed the best way to achieve our goals, experimenting with various shapes and making necessary adjustments to achieve an artistic appearance. We also focused on improving the electronics, including the PCB and connectors, to ensure reliable performance.
Aesthetics and Technical Complexity
The structural design of the LED screen posed a significant challenge, as we had never encountered such complexity before. To tackle this, we adopted a two-stage approach. First, we created a prototype by assembling the LED screens in the factory. This allowed us to test the design and make any required modifications. After the client was satisfied with the prototype we made, then we moved forward to improve the design and create the final structure.
Mastering Electronics Engineering
Since the structure could not be fabricated as a single entity, we built it cabinet by cabinet. Our skilled team crafted each cabinet by hand, ensuring precision and making necessary adjustments to achieve the desired artistic shape. Each cabinet went through the same careful procedure to ensure consistency.
Installation process
The installation process presented another challenge due to the irregular shape of the LED screen. We took great care in assembling the LED screens, considering factors such as flatness, seamless integration, and various curvatures. Our objective was to install the power supply units and cables without compromising the artistic shape or interfering with data transmission. We strategically placed the controller and receiving cards and connected them accordingly. During installation, our priority was to securely hang led screen in the air while maintaining the overall structural integrity. The prior trial assembly in the factory significantly eased the installation process.

In summary, the creation of this complex hanging LED screen system required meticulous planning, prototyping, and innovative problem-solving. Through close collaboration with the client and the dedicated efforts of our team, we successfully delivered an artistic and functional LED screen that met the client’s expectations and satisfaction.
